Where do you call home?
Tairāwhiti, New Zealand.
I have previously lived in Wellington for 12 years.

How do you describe your artwork style?
My creative style is characterised by bright and retro-fresh colour palettes and curvaceous forms, meticulously handcrafted lettering, and illustrative elements of flora and fauna.

Have you always stayed in your field of art or were there other types of art that you have tried and tested?
I have a diploma in fashion design from 2002.

What is your ideal environment when creating your artwork?
Outside for murals because it allows me to connect with other people and the environment around me. If in studio, I like to have plenty of light, be surrounded by nice colours and plants, incense, music or a podcast.

What values are important to you?
Love and respect for mother earth, and an appreciation of all that she does to support us.

Any advice for aspiring NZ artists?
Always make and share the art that you want to make more of.

What was the inspo behind your artwork for your PieceHouse jigsaw puzzle?
The freedom feeling of summer - wide open spaces, the smell of freesias at the beach, and that gorgeous golden light that happens at the end of the day.

What are you hoping 2022 will bring?
Fresh fruit, less pandemics, and more kindness and empathy for each other.
