Puzzles are all very different, which mainly comes down to the puzzle artwork, however there are a few factors that can impact how long a puzzle will take to be completed, here are things to consider before you get started on your puzzle...

Puzzle Artwork

A detailed artwork design with lots of unique details is easier the puzzle to complete than a design that has lots of block colour. A simple design with not much colour variance is a lot more challenging. Here at PieceHouse we offer a range of designs, with the Classic As puzzle being the easiest design to complete through to Golden Hour being the most challenging puzzle design.

Puzzle Piece Cut & Size

There are 2 types of styles for the cut shapes of the pieces, these are called Ribbon Cut or Random Cut.

Ribbon Cut refers to a classic puzzle piece cut with a quite a few piece sizes but they are pretty uniform across the puzzle, this is what we use here at PieceHouse.

Random Cut refers to when the pieces are all unique, this can sometimes make it easier as you can refer to the shape of the unique piece, however sometimes can make it harder.

Puzzle piece size is a factor too, if the pieces are too small it can make the puzzle quite fiddly to complete.

Puzzle Quality

The thickness of the puzzle piece and the quality of the manufacture can also make an impact, with some thin and badly cut pieces taking longer than a thick, clean cut pieces like how we produce them here at PieceHouse.

Puzzle Completion Strategy

Many hands make light work, if there are a few of you completing the puzzle this will of course make the puzzle completion quicker.
If you have a strategy of separating out all your pieces at the beginning this can speed up completion considerably, seperate the edges first and then seperate by colour sections and also unique pieces. You can read more about our Tips & Tricks for completing a puzzle here

Unfortunately it is a bit like how long is a piece of string, however generally puzzles can take between 5 - 15 hours to complete solo, here are a few tiem examples from our puzzle designs...
